Welcome to the official website for Nancey B. Price!
A native of the quaint town of Girard, GA, Nancey B. Price is a collage artist, philanthropist, and aspiring author. A current graduate student pursing her Master’s of Public Administration, Nancey graduated magna cum laude from Mercer University in Macon, GA with a Bachelor of Art in Women’s and Gender Studies. Since then, Nancey has been flexing her creative, storytelling muscles, telling stories of Black girlhood, womanhood (and all the phases in between) in the spoken and written word. She has practiced performative storytelling at various open mic events and has used her skill to document her experiences as an aspiring author in her blog, Diary of a Young Black Author in Need of a Hug.
More recently, Nancey has embarked on the journey of visual storytelling through the art of collaging, for which she has received recognition at the University of Georgia, and has completed a commission for the famed O, the Oprah Magazine.
Concurrent with Nancey’s affinity for storytelling is her ever-growing interest in the empowerment of girls and women around the globe. Her undergraduate studies provided the premise for her passion project, the Malawi Girl Project. This initiative ensures Malawian schoolgirls’ access to feminine hygiene products – such as pads and hygienic wipes, and underwear. Since its founding in 2015, the Malawi Girl Project has raised over $3400 dollars and has served 250 adolescent schoolgirls.
Feel free to explore her site and get to know the woman behind so many amazing projects!
